Frequently asked questions

What is a CAS and do I need one?

A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies is issued by your licensed sponsor (the university or college) and is required to apply under the Student route. We guide you on securing and using it correctly.

How much money do I need to show?

You must evidence sufficient funds for your course fees and living costs for a set period. The amount depends on where you study and how long your course is. We review your evidence before submission.

Can I work while on a Student visa?

Most Student route holders can work a limited number of hours during term time. The exact limit depends on your course level and sponsor. We explain the conditions that apply to you.
